Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a wonderful form of support that I can offer you throughout your pregnancy. Since completing my training at Pro Medico in 2004, I have been helping expectant mothers prepare for childbirth and alleviate the minor and major “side effects” of pregnancy with acupuncture. Over the course of 10 months, your body changes daily and adapts to its new role. At the same time, medication can only provide very limited relief during pregnancy. This is exactly when acupuncture and K-Taping can be a wonderful support for you during these changing phases.
-
nauseau / vomiting / dizziness
-
Water retention / edema formation
-
Migraine / headaches
-
Tension in the neck, shoulder and pelvic areas among others
-
sleep disorders and inner restlessness
However, acupuncture can be particularly helpful in preparing for childbirth. Studies have shown that it not only promotes cervical ripening but also shortens the actual birth process in first-time mothers. K-Taping
Kinesiotherapy taping is a great alternative to acupuncture—for anyone who isn't a fan of small needles or who has simply had good experiences with taping. Applied to the skin, the tape unfolds its full effect by transmitting signals from the sensory cells on the surface to the deep muscles. During pregnancy, your joints, ligaments, and muscles are exposed to extreme stress due to weight gain and changes in posture—this is exactly where taping can help.
Together, we can develop a treatment plan for you and adjust it weekly to provide you with exactly the right support during your pregnancy. A combination of both therapies is also possible, of course.
