After birth, a completely new phase begins for many women. The body has accomplished something incredible and now needs time, attention, and gentle care. Postnatal recovery plays a key role during this period. As a midwife in Rostock, I support women especially in the time after birth.
I am not present in the delivery room during labor. My care begins after the birth, during the postpartum period and beyond. If questions arise while a woman is still in the hospital, I am of course available and happy to support. My main focus, however, is the time after discharge, when everyday life begins and the body is allowed to slowly find its balance again.
⭐ Why postnatal recovery is so important
The pelvic floor is heavily strained during pregnancy and birth. Many women only notice this weeks or even months later, for example through a feeling of heaviness, back pain, or insecurity when returning to physical activity. Postnatal recovery is not about “getting fit again” as quickly as possible, but about becoming aware of the body and strengthening it from within.
In my work, it is important to me to emphasize that postnatal recovery is not a race. Every body has its own pace. Gentle, targeted exercises help reactivate the deep muscles and can prevent long term discomfort.
⭐ Postnatal recovery in everyday life
Postnatal recovery does not only take place on a mat. Small changes in everyday life can already make a big difference. How do I get up, how do I lift my baby, how do I breathe. In my care, I look at these daily movements together with the women, as they have a strong impact on the pelvic floor.
Especially in the early postpartum period, things are allowed to be slow. Rest, conscious breathing, and a compassionate approach to the body form the foundation for healthy recovery.
⭐ Postnatal recovery courses in Rostock – supportive and individual
Many women choose to join a postnatal recovery course after the postpartum period. Postnatal recovery courses in Rostock offer a valuable opportunity to practice in a protected setting, ask questions, and connect with other mothers.
I often see how relieving it is for women to hear that their experiences are normal. Uncertainty, a changed body, or the feeling of not quite being “yourself” again are common and valid experiences. Postnatal recovery should strengthen both the body and the emotional well being.
⭐ My approach to postnatal recovery
For me, postnatal recovery is more than a fixed exercise program. It is about rebuilding trust in the body and supporting it step by step. Every woman brings her own story, her birth experience, and her individual needs.
In my work in Rostock, I accompany women with calmness, professional knowledge, and an open ear. Even after the hospital stay, I remain available for questions and support women in finding their way into this new phase of life.
If you give yourself time, listen to your body, and seek support, postnatal recovery can become a strengthening experience – for your body and for your well being in everyday life with your baby.
❤️ Whenever you have something on your mind, I am happy to be by your side. For your questions, thoughts, and all the little moments in between, I am just a phone call away. I look forward to accompanying you with warmth and expertise❤️
